چکیده

-Most of the CAD software, which are available currently, works only on the operating system (generally windows) for which they are designed. Alternatively, the commercial CAD software is dependent upon the operating system. If CAD software is designed such that it is Independent of the operating system, then such CAD software will be much beneficial for the present scenario of the CAD softwares and it will be independent of the operating system. Now-a-days most of the commercial software use application programming interfaces (APIs) which provide libraries of common graphics operations that allow developers to incorporate many more realistic effects into their applications. But the CAD software is dependent on the Operating System, which is the major drawback of the software. There is a need to develop the CAD algorithms independent of operating system so that the same can be used for the development of any CAD software. Keeping this in view, the present work is devoted to the development of CAD algorithm for the Bezier curves and Bezier surfaces. The algorithms are independent of the operating system. The operating system independent graphics library OpenGL has been used for the development of these CAD algorithms.

Creating Exact Bezier Representations of CST Shapes

The paper presents a method of expressing CST shapes pioneered by Kulfan into stan dard Bezier curves and surfaces. Out of the seven standard shape classes identified by Kulfan as representable using CST curves, four of them, including airfoils, can be repre sented as Bezier curves exactly. For the other three, a convergent series expansion proves insufficient to achieve any practical accurac...

Piecewise Bezier Curves Path Planning with Continuous Curvature Constraint for Autonomous Driving

We present two practical path planning algorithms based on Bezier curves for autonomous vehicles operating under waypoints and corridor constraints. Bezier curves have useful properties for the trajectory generation problem. This paper describes how the algorithms apply these properties to generate the reference trajectory for vehicles to satisfy the path constraints. Both algorithms generate t...

Strategy to obtain initial configurations for free form reflectors design

A strategy to obtain sets of initial configuration to design freeform reflector surfaces is presented. This strategy brings the initial configuration of the reflector surface using a collection of elemental facets defined by Bezier surfaces and able to face the optimization process of the illumination system. The purpose of this communication is to provide initial configurations to obtain a set...

freeform: A Tool for Teaching the Mathematics of Curves and Surfaces

We describe the structure and use of an interactive modeling and visualization tool used to help students understand various important concepts in curve and surface design. This paper describes those aspects of the tool related to NURBS curves, but Bezier and Hermite curves are also supported as are Bezier and B-Spline surfaces. The focus of this paper is almost exclusively on those features of...
